Permit Only Faculty and Staff to View your Stream Video

Follow these steps if you want to share your video with only with all K faculty and staff, and prohibit students from viewing it.

The process is the same as the process shown in our Tech Talk video “Giving permission to view a private video on stream“, but in this case the people you give viewing access to are “people” called “Faculty” and “Staff.”

To set permissions at the time you upload the video

  1. Upload your video
  2. On the permissions tab, uncheck the box next to “allow everyone in your company to view this video”
  3. Under the Share with dropdown, select “People”. Note: do not select “my groups”, even though you might think of Faculty and Staff as a group, it means something else in this context!
  4. Type Faculty and click the magnifier icon.
  5. Click on “Faculty” from the list that appears.
  6. Type Staff and click on the magnifier icon.
  7. Click on “Staff” from the list.
  8. Click Publish.

To change permissions on a video you already published

  1. Browse to the video on Stream.
  2. Click the ellipsis or “More actions” link under the video.
  3. Select “Update video details” from the popup menu.
  4. Locate the Permissions area and continue with step 2 above.
