Student Printing and Copying

Locations

New Canon printer/copiers are available in the computer labs and the library. Current students, faculty, and staff with a Kalamazoo College network account can print to these from the lab/library computers or their own wireless-enabled devices.

Each residence hall has a networked printer as well. Students can print to these from their networked computers or wireless devices.

All of the above are enabled with new optional Find-Me printing for secure release.

Print Credits

Print Credit Allotment

  • Students are allotted $10 print credit per quarter.
  • First-year students receive an additional $10 credit in the fall term (offsetting First-Year Seminar requirements)
  • Seniors receive an additional $20 credit in the fall term (offsetting SIP requirements)

Unused print credit balances roll over from fall and winter terms. Balances are cleared after spring quarter.

Checking Printing Accounts

Students can access printing details, like credit balances and print history, by logging into papercut.kzoo.edu. Please note that PaperCut is accessible from on-campus only.

Adding Print Credits

Students may purchase print credits at the Circulation Desk in the Library. Students may add credits to their printing accounts in increments of 10¢. Consider how many credits you need before purchasing them; if you run out of credits, you will not be able to print.

Transferring Print Credits

Students may transfer print credits to another Kalamazoo College student account by conducting the following steps. Please note that PaperCut is accessible from on-campus only and all transfers of print credits must be done on a campus computer.

  1. From an on-campus computer: log into Papercut using your Kalamazoo College credentials
  2. Select the “Transfer” tab
  3. Enter the amount you would like to send under the “Transfer to User” field
  4. Enter the exact username (not email address) of the person you would like to send print credits to.
    • Username example: k12ab34
  5. Select the Transfer button for print credits to be transferred immediately.

Checking your Transfer

Select the “Transfer History” tab to review your transfer details such as the amount and the user your transfer was sent to.

Transferred to the Wrong Person?

Please speak to a supervisor at the Circulation Desk if you have transferred your print credits to the wrong person.

Reimbursement

Information Services cannot reimburse students for unused credits; however, students can transfer print credits to another Kalamazoo College student account on campus.

You may request a refund of print credits if a printout is unreadable, wrinkled, or caught in a paper jam. Bring the flawed pages to the Library Circulation Desk to receive a print credit refund.

Refunds will not be issued for non-printer errors such as blank pages at the end of a document, printing a document in error, or spelling mistakes.

Off Campus Study

Students studying off-campus will accumulate the number of credits outlined above. However, students studying off-campus for nine months will not receive extra print credits when they return in the Fall. All printing accounts are refreshed in the summer.
