What to Expect and Commitment
What to Expect in User Testing
User testing (otherwise known as usability testing) is a research technique to evaluate the functionality of a product (in this case the Giving website) by observing real users as they attempt to complete tasks. The goals of this round of testing is to both identify any problems within the design of the website and uncover opportunities to improve.
For our testers it’s a pretty simple process—within a 30-45 minute recorded meeting on Zoom or Teams, tell us what you think while completing a handful of tasks. It’s really that easy!
Tester Commitment
- Although testing is typically done within 30-45 minutes, by signing up we ask that you commit to providing 1 full hour of your time as this will compensate for troubleshooting any technical issues and/or collecting feedback.
- Have access to a desktop or laptop with a working microphone and webcam.
Note: if you do not have direct access to this technology, but would like to participate, please let us know and we can try to accommodate you. - Provide consent for the testing session to be recorded in the usability testing volunteer form.
